Further education colleges offer foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a good selection of subjects.
You can study on a college course in Scotland in a more rural area to a town or city. Study in Scotland college course fees are free for Scottish students as they are paid by the Scottish Education Department. Bursaries or a grant are available and you can apply for a student loan for higher education courses.
All colleges have partnerships with Scottish universities offering students credit for prior learning enabling them to complete a degree course following a Higher National Diploma (HND) for example.

Do not expect to get rich while receiving a modern apprenticeship wage as you are on a training programme. Although you have a training job, you will become qualified and receive a higher wage.
