Nursery Teaching

Days spent at a nursery teaching school for children are an important part of a child’s lives.  Nursery teaching is strictly controlled in the western world, although nursery teaching is a professional occupation and popular.  There are many opportunities for nursery teaching in the UK and nursery teaching abroad.  As a qualified nursery teacher or nursery teaching assistant you can work alone in a nursery school day by day.

A nursery teaching day could start with checking you have all the lessons and regulation paperwork for the day or making calls to co-workers or parents.  As children are young, nursery teaching for the same children is conducted for a few hours over 2-5 days per week.  All teaching, especially a nursery teacher requires focus and being attentive in relation to health and safety.

Developing a child’s reading through play, reading from books in groups or one to one.

Enhancing nursery children’s speech through songs, speaking and reading aloud.

All nursery schools appear to develop speech, reading and social interaction through nursery rhymes in a nursery teaching day.  Children like to play and sing in general, but not all nursery children.  Nursery teaching involves learning a good number of nursery rhymes, and children will already know some nursery rhymes when arriving at a nursery school.  Nursery teaching through nursery rhymes includes worded families to develop nursery children’s vocabulary and speech development.

Nursery teaching through games, drawing and singing nursery rhymes introduces children to new works, actions, and social play and interaction.  Using a range of different resources nursery teaching building up children knowledge, self esteem and learning of specific words and social skills.  Nursery rhymes include literary, numeracy, and nursery games could include a combination of literacy, numeracy, reading and speaking to solve problems as individuals.

 

Developing literacy is an important role through nursery teaching and every nursery teacher should be aware of how to use certain words effectively for nursery teaching.  Word groups commonly used nursery teaching:

All nursery teachers in a nursery teaching capacity help to develop nursery children's curiosity and knowledge through singing, play and instruction.  Nursery teaching also involves working with others to plan and coordinate teaching and planning as well as keeping up to date with periodic changes in the nursery curriculum and developments for best teaching, learning and development practice.
