Following an undergraduate or graduate degree at masters level you can conduct further study at Phd level or other doctorate degree. Course length varies from 3-4 years full time or 5-8 years part time.  Acceptance onto a course requires getting appropriate supervisors from the university and all funding you require for the length of the course through self funding, grant or scholarships sources.

 

What is the difference between a phd and doctorate?

Phd: This type of doctorate degree is mainly academic focus related with a more theoretical basis.

Doctorate: General term for a doctorate degree that also includes work based research with less focus on theory. Example: DBA
