E-mail Print PDF

Houses and apartments, including student accommodation that are affordable for everyone is desirable, although affordable housing is out of reach for millions of people that are looking for affordable housing worldwide. Affordable housing affects most people looking for a property and affordable housing is debated in worldwide political circles. Key workers that work in essential services require affordable housing and although there are certain schemes and organisations that help with affordable housing most housing is outside the reach of first time buyers and key workers that are looking for an affordable to live in.

Initiatives for Affordable Housing

- Key worker program: Affordable housing is made available to essential workers such as teacher, lectures, and people working in education, nurses, fire department, police and teachers. Governments provide money to organisations and provide money direct for key workers to gain a foot a hold on the property ladder. Restrictive funs are available and only a few key works attain the finance towards affordable housing. Known as shared ownership affordable housing opportunities are available in many countries where essentially all key workers looking for affordable housing must meet strict criteria. First time buyers, 50% ownership, deposit full time essential worker position and in the position for over a certain period of time are average criteria that must be met for the key worker affordable housing program.

- Right to Buy: As sitting tenants in council or state owned property tenants can buy the property they live in providing an affordable housing open. Discounts are available for the length of time as a tenant, although price payable is close to market prices.

- Social Housing Schemes: Low income families, certain young people, homeless, and some other groups could be eligible for a grant or shared ownership, helping with affordable housing. Criteria requires to be met, although low income families around the world should have access to various schemes run by local & central government, private business or housing associations.

- Housing association and local government owned housing: Housing that is owned by the state and housing associations are made available to people that qualify for affordable housing, such as homeless, and single mother’s families. Affordable housing comes as houses, apartments & flats, bedsits that are available for rent and shared ownership schemes. This initiative is a good and popular way for affordable housing; required and western governments provide tax incentives & planning permission for developers and buy to let investors that provide affordable housing.

Affordable housing buying bought under a scheme generally requires the buyer to keep the property for a number of years before they can sell the affordable housing that bought. Affordable housing London, affordable housing France, Affordable housing, Scotland, affordable housing USA, affordable, housing Canada and affordable house has been sold in recent years for more than treble the buying price under certain affordable housing schemes. As an affordable housing the property is general sold to an affordable housing buyer below market price, and house prices has risen dramatically in recent years enabling the affordable housing buyer to reap hugh profits from certain affordable housing schemes.

UK government Home Buy initiative for affordable housing launched in October 2006 is good but totally inadequate according to general think and opinion from affordable housing hunters. Governments make land available and sell of land for property developer and affordable housing initiatives to develop. Land in USA, Australia, Germany, France, Morocco, and Ireland are some of the land passed over for affordable housing.

Ethical private landlords and charities are providing affordable housing to homeless, young families, affordable housing retired people, affordable housing single parents, and affordable housing low wage earners. Affordable housing for rent is provided from private landlords that buy to let houses for affordable housing tenants. Charities are also filling the void for affordable housing, providing affordable housing flats & apartments, affordable housing bedsites, affordable housing shared ownership schemes, affordable housing shared tenanted houses and apartments.
