Scotland Teaching

Teachers from the UK and overseas are welcome with appropriate qualifications to work as teacher in a public school in Scotland if they have registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). Scotland teaching and education also has independent fee paying schools and teachers must also be registered with (GTCS). There are Scotland teaching jobs available for all subjects in Scotland government primary and secondary schools.

Obtaining the appropriate work and residency permits should not be a problem with the qualifications and experience required and no criminal record to conduct Scotland teaching and education.  Scotland teaching jobs in private schools throughout Scotland provides a range of education jobs in addition to the government run schools that have additional recruitment criteria.

Police clearance in Scotland is completed through Disclosure Scotland, the government agency in Scotland that processes police checks.  Scotland teaching requires and Enhanced Disclosure for teaching in Scotland, which is a check to work with children in schools and colleges.

Scotland teaching and education is similar to England & Wales education, although there are different qualifications and you can attend university from 17 years old. Teaching qualifications are also different from England & Wales.

Teaching in Scotland for people with motivation, experience and good classroom management skills have a range of opportunities for Scotland teaching in cities from Glasgow and Aberdeen to the Islands, although there is no Scotland teaching shortage.

Teaching at college is another option for Scotland teaching with appropriate qualifications.  Teacher training courses in Scotland for Scotland teaching is conducted through a Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in a number of the universities in Scotland or initial teacher training.

Taster days for teaching in Scotland are arranged by schools and the Scottish government to introduce prospective teachers to Scotland teaching and education.
